Abstract:
Provided is an optical fiber cord that is provided with a connector and that can be inexpensively manufactured through a small number of steps. An optical fiber cord 1 with a connector is provided with: an optical fiber cord 2; a ferrule 34 that is fitted to the front end of an optical fiber core wire 22 of the optical fiber cord 2; a housing 5 that houses the ferrule 34 and the optical fiber cord 2 so as to allow exposure of the ferrule 34 from the front end to the outside and extend the optical finer cord 2 from the rear end; a protective tube 42 that is mounted onto the exposed part of the optical finer core wire 22 of the optical fiber 2; and a boot member 43 that is mounted onto the rear end of the housing 5. The protective tube 42 has: a tube body 421 that has a uniform outer diameter; and a front end part 422 that is formed integrally with the tube body 421 at an end of the tube body 421. The outer diameter of the front end part 422 is larger than that of the tube body 421. The boot member 43 has a step 433 that engages the front end part 422 of the protective tube 42.
