Abstract:
An optical fiber measurement system may be used for measuring one or more optical fibers in the field of optical communications. The optical fiber measurement system comprises an optical time domain reflectometer, a wavelength division multiplexer, and a signal generator. The signal generator sends signal light to the wavelength division multiplexer. The optical time domain reflectometer sends two beams of measurement light with wavelengths respectively on two sides of the signal light wavelength to the wavelength division multiplexer. The wavelength division multiplexer combines the two beams of measurement light and the signal light and then sends the combined light to an optical fiber, and sends the light returned by the optical fiber to the optical time domain reflectometer, so that the optical time domain reflectometer determines the performance of the optical fiber according to the returned light. By transmitting the two beams of measurement light on the two sides of the signal light wavelength in the same direction, the power of the measurement light having a short wavelength can be transferred to one side of the signal light, and the power of the signal light can also be transferred to one side of the measurement light having a long wavelength, so that the power transfer of the two beams of measurement light and the signal light in the measurement process is effectively cancelled, and the accuracy of optical fiber measurement is improved without affecting the normal service transmission of the signal light.
