Abstract:
Provided is a method for preparing an optical fiber, the method comprising the following steps: preparing a powder body mandrel; sequentially subjecting the powder body mandrel to dehydroxylation and sintering treatments to obtain a glass rod, wherein the dehydroxylation treatment comprises placing the powder body mandrel in a dehydroxylation atmosphere containing a fluorine-containing gas for dehydroxylation, and the hydroxyl content of the glass rod is less than 5 ppm; forming an outer cladding layer on the surface of the glass rod to obtain an optical fiber preform rod; drawing the fiber preform rod into a filament, and subjecting the filament to a temperature-maintained annealing treatment; and coating the surface of the filament with a resin and then performing ultraviolet curing to obtain an optical fiber. Further provided is an optical fiber prepared by using the method for preparing an optical fiber.
