Abstract:
In an optical material according to the present disclosure, the transmittance curve measured with a thickness of 2 mm satisfies the characteristics in (1) and (2) below, and the hue in the CIE1976 (L*, a*, b*) color space satisfies the characteristic in (3). (1) Has a maximum value of transmittance at a wavelength of 400 nm to 450 nm or 520 nm to 570 nm, and the maximum value of the transmittance at a wavelength of 400 to 450 nm and the transmittance at a wavelength of 520 to 570 nm are at least equal to 50%. (2) Has a minimum value of transmittance at a wavelength of 470 to 500 nm, where the minimum value is at most equal to 40%. (3) The hue in the CIE1976 (L*, a*, b*) color space is such that a* is at least equal to 2.5 and at most equal to 5.5, and b* is at least equal to 5 and at most equal to 25.
