Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an optical power monitoring device and the like which solves the problems of further increasing speed and precision. [Solution] This optical power monitoring device (10) is provided with: an APD (11) as a photodiode that converts the power (P) of light (P) to a current (Iapd); a resistor (12) that is connected in parallel to the APD (11); a current mirror circuit (13) that detects, as a first current value (I1), the value corresponding to the sum of the current (Irb) flowing through the resistor (12) and the current (Iapd) flowing through the APD (11); and a control unit (14). The control unit (14) pre-stores a value corresponding to the current flowing through the resistor (12) as a second current value (I2), and determines the current (Iapd) flowing through the APD (11) on the basis of the second current value (I2) and the first current value (I1) detected by the current mirror circuit (13).
