Abstract:
In order to provide an optical sensor capable of accurately detecting the direction of motion of an object to be detected even when ambient light is present, the optical sensor comprises: a light emitting element; a ring divided photodetector element group (RDPD) that is disposed in a ring at the edge of a region which is exposed to reflected light that is the light emitted from the light emitting element reflected off the object to be detected, and that generates a photocurrent by receiving the reflected light; and a gesture circuit that detects the direction of motion of the object to be detected by receiving the photocurrent generated from the photodetector elements contained in the ring divided photodetector element group (RDPD).
