Disclosed are an optical system, a lens module, and a terminal device. The optical system comprises, from an object side to an image side along an optical axis, a first lens (L1) having positive refractive power, an object-side surface of the first lens (L1) being convex at the optical axis; a second lens (L2) having refractive power; a third lens (L3) having refractive power; a fourth lens (L4) having positive refractive power, an object-side surface of the fourth lens (L4) being concave at the optical axis, and an image-side surface of the fourth lens (L4) being convex at the optical axis; and a fifth lens (L5) having negative refractive power. An image-side surface of the second lens (L2) is cemented to an image-side surface of the third lens (L3), and the following condition is satisfied: 1.0mm-1 < (n2+n3)/f < 1.4mm-1, wherein n2 is the refractive index of the second lens (L2), n3 is the refractive index of the third lens (L3), and f is the effective focal length of the optical system. The relationship between the surface types and the refractive powers of the first lens (L1) to the fifth lens (L5), and the ratio of (n2+n3)/f are rationally configured, and the second lens (L2) and the third lens (L3) are configured to be cemented lenses, thus facilitating improving the assembly yield of the optical system.
