Abstract:
This optical transmission device comprises: a symbol demapping unit for converting a received signal into a signal of an I-axis component, a signal of a Q-axis component, and a signal in which the signal of the I-axis component and the signal of the Q-axis component are connected, on a phase plane; a likelihood generation circuit for generating likelihoods pertaining to the received signal; and an error correction decoding unit for carrying out soft-decision decoding. The likelihood generation circuit has a first one-dimensional modulation lookup table that takes the signal of the I-axis component as an argument and outputs a first likelihood, a second one-dimensional modulation lookup table that takes the signal of the Q-axis component as an argument and outputs a second likelihood, and a two-dimensional modulation lookup table that takes the signal in which the signal of the I-axis component and the signal of the Q-axis component are connected as an argument and outputs a third likelihood. The error correction decoding unit carries out the soft-decision decoding on the basis of the first likelihood, the second likelihood, and the third likelihood.
