Title:
OPTICAL TRANSPORT SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2022/038765
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An objective of the present invention is to provide an optical transport system in which even if an inter-core loss difference is existent in a multicore optical fiber (MCF), the XT specified by modulation techniques can be satisfied. An optical transport system according to the present invention is characterized by comprising: a multicore optical fiber which has a plurality of core regions and in which the loss is different at least between two cores; forward excitation light sources and a multiplex unit that are for causing Raman-amplified excitation light to be incident on each core of the multicore optical fiber in the same direction as signal light; and backward excitation light sources and a multiplex unit that are for causing Raman-amplified excitation light to be incident on each core of the multicore optical fiber in the opposite direction to the signal light, wherein the intensity ratio between the forward excitation light and the backward excitation light is controlled (the ratio in power between the excitation lights is set to a predetermined value) so as to reduce the crosstalk (XT) variation between the cores.
