Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing an optically anisotropic film having excellent orientation, light resistance, and moisture and heat resistance. The optically anisotropic film of the present invention comprises a liquid crystalline compound or polymer and aggregates of organic compounds, wherein the optically anisotropic film does not have absorption in the visible light region, the average value of the ratios of the major axis lengths of the aggregates to the minor axis lengths of the aggregates is at least 2.0, and the average length of the major axes of the aggregates is at least 10 nm.
