Abstract:
This invention is related to coin depository mechanism for coin-operated public phone of optimal coin collection and refund It comprises a coin speed decelerator(21) to decrease the speed of inserted coin which had passed the coin slot(14), a plurality of derivation solenoids (22a)(22b)(22c) to lead said coin into the suitable accumulation slot according to the information made by the coin type selection sensor(12), a plurality of coin depository passages(23a)(23b)(23c)(23d) having the same number as that of coin types which were to be separated and accumulated, a plurality of coin collection solenoids(26a)(26b)(26c)(26d) provided in each coin depository passage to preserve the coin storing condition and to receive the money used in said public phone, a plurality of illegal use prevention sensors(25a)(25b)(25c)(25d) to sense whether said coin exists or not and to distinguish the illegal coin, a refund solenoid(27) to return the coin left in coin accumulation slot when the phone call is over and a return passage(28).

Claims
1. An optimum acceptor and optimum refund coin mechanism for public phone with multiple section coin inlet passages comprising: a coin speed decelerator (21) to decrease the speed of inserted coin which had passed the coin slot (14) ; a plurality of derivation solenoids (22a) (22b) (22c) to lead said coin into the suitable accumulation slot according to the information made by the coin type selection sensor (12) ; a plurality of coin depository passages (23a) (23b) (23c) (23d) having the same number as that of coin types which were to be separated and accumulated; a plurality of coin collection solenoids (26a) (26b) (26c) (26d) provided in each coin depository passage to preserve the coin storing condition and to receive the money used in said public phone; a plurality of illegal use prevention sensors (25a) (25b) (25c) (25d) to sense whether said coin exists or not and to distinguish the illegal coin; a refund solenoid (27) to return the coin left in coin accumulation slot when the phone call is over; and a return passage (28).

The optimum acceptor and optimum refund coin mechanism for public phone according to claim 1, wherein said public phone further comprising: a plurality of coin accumulation passage guides (24a) (24b) (24c) of which the width can be adjusted in accordance with that of coin; and coin accumulation passage guide control slit (29).

A control part for coin accumulation mechanism for public phone with multiple section coin inlet passages according to claim 1 or claim 2, comprising: a microprocessor, an oscillation circuit, a reset circuit, a power unit and a plurality of coin detecting sensors sensing whether coin is pertinently accumulated in appropriate accumulation passage or not, wherein said control part which is separately provided from coin collection mechanism circuit, performs the functions of Fig 5, Fig 6 and Fig 7 to control the plural derivation solenoids and acceptor solenoids in coin collection mechanism by sensing the types of coins inserted from coin sorting equipment.

OPTIMUM ACCEPTOR AND OPTIMUM REFUND COIN MECHANISM FOR PUBLIC PHONE Technical Field This invention is related to coin depository mechanism for coin-operated public phone of optimal coin collection and refund.

Especially, plural coin depository passage for public phone which is separated and saved several size of coins by the FIFO (first in first out) algorithm.

Background Art Normally, structure of the coin collecting mechanism of the public phone consists of coin speed decelerator (21), coin depository passage (23), illegal coin prevention sensor (25), coin collection solenoid (26), refund solenoid (27), return passage (28).

When the coin is inserted into the coin muzzle (ll), coin type and illegal coin are discriminated by the coin type selection sensor (12). The case of inferiority coin should be returned by illegal coin return solenoid (13) through illegal coin return passage (15) to the refund muzzle (32). Normally, inserted coin drop velocity would be decreased by coin speed decelerator (21) in coin accumulation mechanism (20) and stored by inserted order in coin depository passage (23). The public phone should be enable to use when the coin is accumulated in coin depository passage, and usage consumption time is detected.

By the proportion usage time of public phone coin collection solenoid (26) are activated to satisfy the optimal coin collection condition and coin is saved in cash container (31). When the service are stop, the money left are refunded from

coin depository passage (23) by the activation of coin collection solenoid (26) and refund solenoid (27).

In other word, existing single depository mechanism using FIFO (First In First Out) algorithm has several problems. If the inserted monetary coin unit is lager than public phone usage charge, refund is impossible so it bring on economical loss of user. Because of the single coin inlet, if the depository passage problem happens, the other ports of system would be disabled.

Furthermore, each nation's coin size and dimension are different so each nations needs different coin accumulation mechanism.

Disclosure of the Invention To solve the existing coin collection mechanism problems, by installation of plural coin accumulation slot of FIFO algorithm in singular coin muzzle of accumulation mechanism, this patent furnishes optimal collection and refund by the perpendicular accumulation in accordance with coin type, increase of collection quantity per unit area and improvement of coin inlet passage troubles. Furthermore, coin accumulation passage size are changeable by the coin size or coin thickness, so it is possible to enhance the productivity and support coin collection mechanism of optimal acceptor and optimal refund for public phone.

To achieve the stated above, there are several parts to consist of coin collecting mechanism for public phone. There are coin speed decelerator (21) to decrease velocity of inserted coin which passed coin slot (14), derivation solenoid (22a) (22b) (22c) to lead suitable accumulation slot as the coin type and illegal coins are discriminated by the coin type selection sensor (12), plural coin depository passages (23a) (23b) (23c) (23d) for classifying as the number of coin denomination as user want to separate and accumulate, coin accumulation passage

guide (24a) (24b) (24c) to separate the plural coin accumulation passage, coin accumulation passage guide control slit (29) to adjust coin size, coin collection solenoid (26a) (26b) (26c) (26d) to preserve of coin store condition and to receive a mount of used money, illegal use prevention sensor (25a) (25b) (25c) (25d) to distinguish the illegal coin and to inform the whether coin is existed or not, refund solenoid (27) to return the coin left in coin accumulation slot when the usage is over and return passage (28).

According to the reference Figure 2, this optimal coin collection and refund mechanism includs coin speed decelerator (21), derivation solenoid

(22a) (22b) (22c), plural coin depository passages (23a) (23b) (23c) (23d), coin accumulation passage guide (24a) (24b) (24c) (24d), illegal use prevention sensor (25a) (25b) (25c) (25d), coin collection solenoid (26a) (26b) (26c) (26d), refund solenoid (27), return passage (28) and coin accumulation passage guide control slit (29).

When the coin is inserted into the coin muzzle (ll), coin type and illegal coin are discriminated by the coin type selection sensor (12). The inferior coin should be returned by illegal coin return solenoid (13) according to the illegal coin return passage (15) to the refund muzzle (32). In the normal case, the inflow velocity of coin would be decreased by coin speed decelerator (21) in coin accumulation mechanism (20). By the discrimination signal of coin type selection sensor (12), microprocessor is actuated each derivation solenoid appropriately in coin accumulation passage, so the coins are pertinently accumulated in appropriate accumulation passage. If the stored amount is more than the minimum charge for using, the public phone is enable to use.

As public phone consumption time is detected, the appropriate price is calculated by microprocessor. And, in accordance with the coin information which saved in microprocessor, relevant coin collection solenoid (26a) (26b) (26c) (26d) are operated and optimal collection is enabled.

Likewise, the public phone using is over, the left coin which stacks in each depository slots are refund to the refund muzzle (32) by each receipt solenoid and refund solenoid. Due to the acceptor is optimized, refund is also able to return the maximum money as much as possible.

At this time, inserted coins are separated by each coin accumulate passage, the minimum amount of money are received optimally in depository and left coins are returned. So this mechanism should be solved the refund disable problem of the inserted monetary coin unit is lager than public phone using charge.

As the Figure 4 shown, the width of coin accumulation passage are available to control by guide slit. Therefore, there is no need to make a adapt coin collection mechanism as the size of coin is changed.

Moreover lid of coin collection mechanism are changeable to adapt various coin thickness.

Because of the installed plural coin accumulation slot, if coin passage problems are happen, microprocessor could be compensated the mechanism to prevent from using the trouble slot, so system disable situation for public phone could be decreased.

So this mechanism are furnished optimal collection and refund by the perpendicular accumulation of coin type, increase of accumulation quantity per the unit are and improvement of coin inlet passage troubles. Furthermore, coin accumulation passage size are changeable by the coin size or coin thickness, it is possible to increase the productivity and apply to coin accumulation mechanism of optimum acceptor and optimum refund for public phone Industrial Applicability Accordingly, as apply this patent to the public phone which attached plural coin accumulation slot and existing single inlet slot, it is possible to furnished optimal collection and refund by the perpendicular collection of coin type, increase of accumulation quantity per the unit are and improvement of coin inlet passage troubles.
