Abstract:
With respect to an optoacoustic image generation device that obtains both a B-mode ultrasonic image and an optoacoustic image and combines the same, the present invention addresses the problem of enabling said optoacoustic image generation device to obtain an optoacoustic image having a resolution appropriate for the resolution of the B-mode ultrasonic image. The present invention includes: an insertion body (15) that has an optoacoustic wave generation section; an acoustic wave detection section (11) that detects optoacoustic waves and reflected acoustic waves; an acoustic image generation section (25) that generates a B-mode acoustic image on the basis of the reflected acoustic waves; an optoacoustic image generation section (24) that generates an optoacoustic image on the basis of the optoacoustic waves; an image output section (26) that outputs a display image in which the B-mode acoustic image and the optoacoustic image are combined; and a control section (28) that controls the detection frequency of the optoacoustic waves that are used when the optoacoustic image generation section (24) generates the optoacoustic image on the basis of the resolution of the B-mode acoustic image composing the display image.
