Abstract:
Provided is an oral care system which quantifies the amount of plaque on the basis of pixel values obtained by subjecting image data capturing a user's oral cavity to image processing, and superimposes and displays the quantified plaque amount data on the captured image data of the teeth inside the oral cavity to enable the user to recognize, accurately and in detail, the amount of plaque built up on the teeth inside the user's oral cavity and the plaque build-up site. This oral care system is characterized by comprising a plaque detection toothbrush provided with an imaging means capable of capturing a user's intraoral image, subjecting the user's intraoral image captured by the plaque detection toothbrush to first image processing and second image processing for quantifying plaque and the gums on the basis of pixel values classified into plaque, teeth, gums and the like, and displaying the results of the first image processing and the second image processing as image data on a display means to enable the user to recognize the state of the gums and to brush the teeth while recognizing the site and amount of plaque build-up on the teeth inside the oral cavity.
