Abstract:
An organic EL element having, in the stated order, an anode, a charge-transporting layer, a light-emitting layer, and a cathode, the charge-transporting layer being formed using one or more compounds containing a charge-transporting compound and a solvent, wherein the relationships in equation (I) and equation (II) shown below are satisfied when the charge-transporting layer contains a charge-transporting compound (A) and a charge-transporting compound (B) and has, in the stated order from the anode side, a first region, a second region, and a third region, the ratio of the content of the charge-transporting compound (B) in relation to the content of the charge-transporting compound (A) in the first and second regions being defined as, respectively, B1/A1 and B2/A2, and the ratio of the charge-transporting compound (A) in relation to the content of the charge-transporting compound (B) in the second and third regions being defined as, respectively, A2/B2 and A3/B3.
