Abstract:
This organic electroluminescent element (1) includes at least two light emitting units (11, 12) arranged between an anode (3) and a cathode (4), and a first cathode-side organic layer (21), wherein: the first cathode-side organic layer (21) containing a phenanthroline compound is arranged on the cathode (4) side of the laminated light emitting unit (11); the laminated light emitting unit (11) includes a first light emitting layer (111) containing a first host material and a second light emitting layer (112) containing a second host material; and the triplet energy T1 (H1) of the first host material and the triplet energy T1 (H2) of the second host material satisfy the relationship of a mathematical expression (Expression 3).
