Abstract:
An organic electroluminescent element, wherein a light-emitting layer contains a non-liquid-crystalline plate-like light-emitting material that has a value of (molecular length/molecular thickness) larger than 3 and a non-liquid-crystalline plate-like host material that has a value of (molecular length/molecular thickness) larger than 3, and wherein the dipole moment (Dg) of the light-emitting material and the dipole moment (Dh) of the host material satisfy |Dg - Dh| < 1. This organic electroluminescent element achieves high degree of orientation, high external quantum efficiency and low driving voltage.
