Abstract:
The orientation detection device according to the present invention has an acquisition unit, a calculation unit, and a discrimination unit. The acquisition unit acquires a biological signal generated on the basis of a reflection wave reflected from a monitored person as a result of a transmission wave being emitted toward the monitored person in a state in which the monitored person is sleeping in a bed. The calculation unit calculates an index value in which is reflected a value indicating the size of a breathing movement of the monitored person and/or a value indicating the size of a heart motion using the biological signal. The discrimination unit discriminates between a first orientation and a second orientation according to whether the index value is greater than a predetermined threshold value. The discrimination unit discriminates between the first orientation and the second orientation using a threshold value assigned in accordance with an angle.
