Abstract:
The present invention provides an improvement relating to a technology of manufacturing, by a wet method, an oriented fiber web in which fibers are oriented in a specific direction. This oriented fiber web production method comprises: (i) preparing a dehydration flow path that is configured from a bottom surface being a surface of a papermaking screen and two lateral walls parallel to each other and that has an upstream end and a downstream end; and (ii) introducing a fiber-dispersing liquid in the dehydration flow path from the upstream end while causing the papermaking screen to run in a direction from the upstream end to the downstream end. The bottom surface of the dehydration flow path has an upslope in the direction from the upstream end to the downstream end. In the dehydration flow path, the fiber-dispersing liquid is dehydrated while flowing in the direction from the upstream end to the downstream end, whereby a fiber web is formed.
