An ornamental lamp assembly incorporating a dual housing structure having an internal protective element and an eternal decorative element to protect functional circuitry from damage sustained as a result of normal outdoor use, and to facilitate achieving a selectively varied décor by interchanging the external decorative housing element with other external decorative housing elements having unique features.
