Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an orthodontic appliance which can maintain sufficient adhesive strength for a long period of time in the oral cavity of a person to be treated by simple processing and which can reduce the discomfort when being worn. [Solution] This orthodontic appliance 1a includes mainly a bracket body 2a, an openable cover part 3a, and a teeth abutment plate part 4a. The teeth abutment plate part 4a has, on one side, a first surface portion 41 that abuts a tooth T on the tongue side surface, and on the side opposite the first surface portion 41, a second surface portion 42 that has the bracket body 2a fixed thereto. The teeth abutment plate part 4a also has a filling hole 44 that penetrates from the first surface portion 41 to the second surface portion 42. The filling hole 44 is formed such that the diameter thereof on the inner wall surface on the second surface portion 42 side is greater than that on the first surface portion 41 side. Thus, an adhesive R applied on the first surface portion 41 enters the filling hole 44 and hardens so that the adhesive R functions as a stopper to prevent the teeth abutment plate part 4a from falling off toward the tongue side.
