An outdoor umbrella having a self-assisted crank mechanism, comprising a pole (100) and a frame (600). A crank assembly (200) is fitted on the pole (100), and the crank assembly (200) can move up and down along the pole (100); the crank assembly (200) is hinged and fitted to an inclined strut (400), and the other end of the inclined strut (400) is configured to be fitted with the frame (600); the crank assembly (200) comprises a housing (250), a rope tensioning and loosening mechanism (210), a locking mechanism (220) and a force assisting mechanism (230), and the locking mechanism (220) is used for locking and positioning or separation and movement between the crank assembly (200) and the pole (100); the force assisting mechanism (230) is used for assisting the crank assembly (200) to move upwards, and when the crank assembly (200) moves downwards along the pole (100), the force assisting mechanism (230) is used for storing force. By optimizing the crank mechanism, an umbrella opening assisting force is provided, and a one-step umbrella opening/closing operation function is realized, thereby facilitating operation and use by a user.
