Abstract:
This outdoor unit for an air conditioner comprises: a housing which accommodates a fan and a compressor; a divider which splits the interior of the housing into a fan chamber where the fan is installed and a machinery chamber where the compressor is installed; an air supply port which is provided to part of a side surface surrounding the machinery chamber of the housing further in a first direction than the compressor; a reactor which is attached to the divider further in the first direction than the compressor in the machinery chamber; an opening which is provided in the divider and through which air for cooling the reactor flows into the fan chamber after having flowed from the air supply port into the machinery chamber due to rotation of the fan; a cover which is provided to the fan chamber and which adjusts air flow such that the air flowing into the fan chamber from the machinery chamber by way of the opening due to rotation of the fan flows in a second direction that is the opposite direction of the first direction; and an electronic component which is provided further in the first direction than the cover within the housing.
