Abstract:
The present invention relates to the technical field of connectors, and in particular to an outer conductor of a connector and a method for forming the outer conductor of the connector. The outer conductor of the connector comprises an outer conductor base body formed by punching; the front end of the outer conductor base body is provided with a variable diameter structure having a reduced radial dimension; the front end of the outer conductor base body is provided with folded parts which are folded inwards and tail ends of which face backwards; the folded parts form the variable diameter structure; the folded parts are provided with process slots penetrating through the tail ends of the folded parts, and are used for adapting to a rounding punching process so as to form a joint seam on one side of the outer conductor base body. The process slots penetrating forwards are formed in the folded parts, and the material of the folded parts having a reduced distribution diameter can be deformed and expanded into the process slots, so that the folded parts of the outer conductor can be machined by means of rounding punching to form the joint seam only on one side of the outer conductor. The outer conductor provided with only one joint seam can bear higher tension, so that the possibility of splitting of the joint seam on the folded parts is reduced, the cost is reduced, and the process is simplified.
