Abstract:
Provided is an overcurrent detecting circuit for detecting an overcurrent that flows when a switching element is turned on, provided with a main current detecting unit for detecting whether an input signal corresponding to a main current flowing through the switching element is at least equal to a set detection threshold, and a condition control unit for controlling a comparison condition in the main current detecting unit by controlling at least one of the waveform and the detection threshold of the input signal in the main current detecting unit, wherein the condition control unit: sets the comparison condition to a first condition during an interval from when the switching element turns on until a first period has elapsed; and sets the comparison condition to a second condition, with which the input signal is less likely to become equal to or greater than the detection threshold than with the first condition, during an interval from when the first period has elapsed until a second period has elapsed.
