Abstract:
[Problem] To suppress a reduction in space efficiency in a building by enabling the track of an overhead traveling vehicle to be installed adjacent to a ceiling. [Solution] This overhead traveling system SYS has an overhead traveling vehicle 100 provided with: a main body unit 10, at least the upper surface 10a of which has a rectangular shape when viewed in a plan view; and traveling wheels 21 which are respectively provided at the four corners of the upper surface 10a of the main body unit 10 and roll on the travel surface of a lattice-type track R, wherein the main body unit 10 is disposed below the lattice-type track R by means of a connection member 32 extending downward from the traveling wheels 21. The overhead traveling vehicle 100 is provided with a charging electrode 17 on the upper surface of the main body unit 10. A charging device 50 is disposed in a space S which: is above the travel surface; at least partially overlaps with a movement space K1 of the traveling wheels 21 when viewed from the side; and does not overlap with the movement space K1 when viewed in a plan view.
