Abstract:

This invention relates to oxazolidinedione derivatives of general formula (I) and a method of producing the same, wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, and R2 represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group as well. The above compounds serve as an intermediate for the production of benzoxazinone derivatives of general formula (II) selectively in good yields, wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, and R3 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, cyanoalkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or aralkyl group. Said benzoxazinone derivatives are well-known and useful as a herbicide.
