Abstract:

The present invention relates to an oxidation reaction in the presence of phase-transfer catalyst controlling reaction, which may be represented by general formular [(R1) (R2) (R3) (R4) N]xH¿y?[A], or QmMO3(L). The kind of catalyst itself is insoluble in reaction medium , but it can form active species which is soluble in reaction medium by the action of one reactant. The active species can act with another reactant and react with it selectly. While one reactant is consumed, the catalyst is separated from reaction system. The catalyst may be recoveried by simple dispart and it may be reused. The recoveried catalyst is the same effective as the original one. The disparting of kind of catalyst is similar to heterogeneous catalyst, but it can exhibit same character of homogeneous catalyst during reaction. Thus the catalyst and the oxidition reaction are suitable particularly for large scale manufacture of cyclohexene oxide from cyclohexene or propylene oxide from propylene.
