Abstract:
An oxide-based composite material is obtained by forming a composite of fibers composed of at least one type of oxide or complex oxide and a matrix formed from at least one type of oxide or complex oxide. The component composition of the fibers and matrix is selected such that the fibers and matrix remain in thermodynamic equilibrium in a temperature range not exceeding the melting point, and the diameter of the fibers when in equilibrium remains at least half of the diameter thereof at the beginning of the composite formation.
