Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: an oxygen carrier which exhibits high conversion efficiency of carbon dioxide to a valuable carbon material (for example, carbon monoxide) and which is economically advantageous, as a result of adding, to indium oxide, an appropriate quantity of an element that can appropriately interact with indium; and a gas production method in which the oxygen carrier is used. [Solution] This oxygen carrier is characterized by containing a metal oxide that contains: indium (In); and an element M other than indium (the element M is an element having a Pauling electronegativity of 1.00-2.00).
