This oxygen occlusion material: has a chemical composition represented by Ce1-xZrxO2-δ (0.45≤x≤0.65, 0≤δ); in the XRD pattern, has, in the vicinity of 14.5°, a peak attributed to a cubic pyrochlore like structure(κ phase); and has a specific surface area of not less than 3 [m2/g].
