[Problem] To provide a packaging body which, while securing a suitable storage space for storing an object to be packaged, can be made to take up less space when disposed of as waste, and a method for manufacturing the packaging body. [Solution] A packaging body (A1) equipped with: a base material (1) that has a front surface (11) and a back surface (12) that face opposite directions in the thickness direction and a window part (13) that penetrates in the thickness direction; a packaging film (2) that has an annular section (21) that is joined to the front surface (11) of the base material (1) and a storage section (22) that is surrounded by the annular section (21) and bulges through the window part (13) from the front surface (11) side to the back surface (12) side of the base material (1); a sealing member (3) that seals off the storage section (22); and an object to be packaged (4) that is stored in a storage space surrounded by the storage section (22) of the packaging film (2) and the sealing member (3). The storage section (22) of the packaging film (2) is flexible and thus bendable.
