Abstract:
A packet forwarding method and apparatus, a computing device, and an offload card, relating to the technical field of communications. The method comprises: upon obtaining a first packet, an offload card queries a packet forwarding flow table according to the first packet, and determines a target forwarding rule from a plurality of forwarding rules comprised in the packet forwarding flow table; the offload card extracts key information of the first packet from the first packet, and performs Hashing on the key information of the first packet to obtain the hash value of the first packet; and the offload card forwards the first packet according to a forwarding action, in the target forwarding rule, corresponding to the hash value of the first packet. The offload card can replace a processor in a computing device to query the packet forwarding flow table, and determines the corresponding forwarding action from the target forwarding rule by using the hash value of the packet so as to forward the packet, without the participation of the processor, so that the occupation for the processor is effectively reduced, and the computing power of the processor can be released.
