Abstract:
The present application discloses a packet transmission method and apparatus. The method comprises: an SMF receiving a UE session creation request initiated by a UE, and determining, according to a redundant transmission parameter in subscription information of the UE, that a created UE session subscribes to a redundant transmission, wherein the subscribed redundant transmission is used to indicate that a first UE session and a second UE session are redundant transmissions to each other; selecting the same UPF for the first UE session and the second UE session according to the redundant transmission parameter, and issuing a configuration parameter to the UPF, wherein the configuration parameter is used for instructing the UPF to deduplicate, copy and forward packets of the first UE session and the second UE session according to a redundant transmission indication and in a redundant mode; and sending a response message to a terminal side device, wherein the response message comprises the redundant transmission indication and the redundant mode. The communication method and apparatus provided in the present application are used for improving the transmission reliability of 3GPP service data.
