Abstract:
A paint for a steel product excellent in corrosion resistance and rust resistance which contains an alloy metal containing 0.1 to 10.0 mass % of a metal or an alloy exhibiting an electric potential in an aqueous solution being baser than that of steel, in particular, Mg and the balanced amount of Zn as a main component, characterized in that said metal or alloy has the shape of a flake, and that it has a water content of 0.8 mass % or less before application, wherein preferably the flake has a thickness of 5 μm or less and an average longer axis of diameter of 1 to 50 μm; and a steel product excellent in corrosion resistance and rust resistance which has the above paint applied on the surface thereof in a film thickness after drying of 300 μm or less. The above paint has the sacrificial corrosion resistance and exhibits excellent corrosion resistance and rust resistance.
