Description:
A PANEL RADIATOR SYSTEM

TECHNICAL FIELD

The invention is related with a panel radiator system.

The invention is particularly related with a radiator system which substantially restricts or completely prevents external intervention of the temperature setting by repositioning the control element.

PRIOR ART

A radiator is a device with a wide heating surface positioned at a convenient place in the environment to be heated with hot water heating systems.

Inlets and outlets of hot water for hot water heating systems vary according to radiator types. These radiator types are: the classical type where the inlets and outlets are positioned at different points on the radiator to allow cross connection, the compact type where the hot water inlets and outlets are positioned at the same point by means of an interconnection on the radiator, and onyx (dual inlet) type radiators with dual water inlets and outlets where the water inlets and outlets are positioned at different points.

Radiators heat the environment by circulating the received hot liquid from the connectors throughout the grates in the body. Classical connectors are generally T-shaped. One end of this element is the inlet port which provides liquid supply, and the other two ends are the distribution ends which distribute the liquid into the grates. The inlet port is positioned to face outside the body to enable liquid intake. The flow of the hot liquid is generally controlled by means of a valve of the control element placed on the control end connected to the mentioned inlet end directly or to the control end connected with the inlet end. The control element can only be positioned outside of the body in the mentioned configuration. A similar condition is also applicable for the compact connectors which comprise both inlet and outlet ends. Said positioning of the control element on said radiator allows unauthorized individuals to tamper the setting of the control element in communal areas such as schools, hospitals and similar public organizations, and results in an increase in heating costs. Furthermore, the positioning of the control element on the outer part of the body results in easy stealing of the valves.

Furthermore, said positioning of the control element results in another problem which also concerns personal areas as much as public areas. Although valves are generally small pieces, they completely occupy the area where they are located, and make it unavailable for any other use. This embodiment challenges furniture layout dramatically, particularly in small apartments.

Another known problem is the failure to maintain the control element in a protected position. The control element positioned in the form of a projection is susceptible to any outside impact and various failures may occur due to the mentioned impacts.

The following documents have been identified as a result of the patent search.

German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA) document, publication no. DE2527132 (A1 ) describes a hot water radiator valve connection. The invention describes repositioning the interconnector on the radiator, and the valve is located out of the radiator body.

The Turkish Patent and Trademark Office document, publication no. 2006/05999 describes a radiator connection assembly with the inlet/outlet at the back. The radiators includes a body which provides hot water inlet and return connections between the radiator and the hot water inlet and return connections of the heating plumbing to achieve water inlet and return at the same point, and the valve is positioned at the back of the body.

The Turkish Patent and Trademark Office document application no. 2013/02021 is related with innovation in right & left controlled panel radiators, the front face of which prevents the decrease in heat loss and controls the right and left inlet of the valve, thus providing energy saving, the positioning of said interconnector is outside of the radiator, although it is different than the positioning of the interconnector on standard radiators. Turkish Patent and Trademark Office document, application no. 2006/04328 describes a thermostatic valve insert adapter for aluminum radiators. The invention is the metal adapter used for mounting thermostatic valve inserts directly on the aluminum radiator cap profile without using flat or corner valve bodies. Said valve is positioned outside of the body.

Turkish Patent and Trademark Office document, application no. 2014/09016 describes a thermostatic valve featuring wireless communication, and a remote control system. The invention is a thermostatic valve featuring RF communication, and it is a valve which monitors the radiator remotely, sets the temperature, and turns on and off according to holidays, thus saving energy.

As a result, all problems described above have necessitated an innovation in the related field.

The invented panel radiator (1 ) system is described in this detailed description with the embodiments only to facilitate understanding the invention and without having any restrictive effect.

The subject of the invention is related with a panel radiator (1 ) system which substantially restricts or completely prevents external intervention to heat setting by repositioning the control element (21 ).

Figure 1 provides the inner configuration of an embodiment of the invention. Said invention is a panel radiator (1 ) system, and substantially it comprises;

- a space (1 1 ) in the radiator body (10),

- a connector which enables distributing the liquid used for heating,

- a control element (21 ) positioned in said space (1 1 ), after being connected with one end of the connector, which faces the space (1 1 ) by means of a core (21 1 ) to control the liquid passing through the connector.

The panel radiator (1 ) comprises a body (10), a connector through which the hot liquid enters and is distributed to the grates (13), and a valve (20) to control the flow of the liquid passing through the connector. Said liquid is transferred to the grates (13) which consists of ducts, and heat the environment. Panel radiators (1 ) comprise connection elements (12) which are preferably positioned on their corners. Connection elements (12) enable discharging and transferring the liquid from the panel radiator (1 ). The connector is a structure which enables liquid inlet and distribution at least, and it includes at least one end on the side that faces the spacing (1 1 ) of the body (10) to place the valve (20) on.

Said shaft (1 1 ) is preferably located at the lower corner of the body (10), and it can be created at any position that faces the valve (20). The space (1 1 ) has a volume at least big enough for the control element (21 ) to fit in.

Figure 2 provides an isometric view of the valve (20) structure. The valve (20) substantially comprises a control element (21 ), a core (21 1 ), and a customized connector (22). The control element (21 ) is connected with the core (21 1 ). The core (21 1 ) moves back and forth at the end where it enters the connector with the propulsion received from the control element (21 ). Figure 2.A provides the upper sectional view of the control element (21 ) and the core (21 1 ) and Figure 2.B provides the upper sectional view of the valve (20).

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, said connector includes at least one control end (221 ), at least one inlet/outlet end (223) and at least one distribution end (222, 224), and said control element (21 ) contacts the control end (221 ). Said configuration is defined as the customized connector (22).

The customized connector (22) is substantially formed as“+” shaped. The inlet/outlet end (223) faces out from the body (10). Liquid enters/exits from the panel radiator (1 ) by means of a tube or a similar structure connected to the inlet/outlet end (223). After entering through the inlet, the liquid is transferred to the distribution ends (222, 224) from the core (225) where the ends (221 , 222, 223, 224) join, and from there to the grates (13). The control end (221 ) is positioned opposite to the inlet/outlet end (223). The control end (221 ) faces the space (1 1 ) in the body (10).

An installation nut (212) is placed between the control element (21 ) and the control end (221 ) of said core (21 1 ). The core (221 ) covers the inlet/outlet end (223) and/or the core (225) by moving forward or being withdrawn from the control end (221 ) with the propulsion received from the control element (21 ), or leaves it open at a certain level. Thus, the amount of liquid passing through the customized connector (22) can be controlled. There is a gasket (21 1 1 ) at the end of the core (21 1 ) to ensure tightness. Here, thanks to positioning the control element (21 ) connected to the control end (221 ) on the customized connector (22), it is seated on the space (1 1 ) in the body (1 1 ). As a result, the control element (21 ) is protected against both external intervention and impacts and does not cover an extra area.

Figure 3 is the lateral elevation of the inner configuration of an alternative embodiment of the invention, Figure 3. A. is an isometric view of the customized compact connector, Figure 3.B is the detail of the customized compact connector ends (23) in Figure 3.A, and Figure 3.C is the sectional elevation of the control element (21 ) and the customized compact connector (23) in Figure 3. A

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, said connector includes at least one control end (231 ), at least one inlet/outlet end (235) and at least one distribution end (222, 236), and said control element (12) contacts the control end (238). Said control element (21 ) is connected to the control end (231 ). Said configuration is defined as the customized compact connector (23).

The customized compact connector (23) resembles the customized connector (22), whereas it includes both the inlet (235) and the outlet (236) ends. Liquid enters the panel radiator (1 ) by means of a tube or a similar structure connected to the inlet end (235). The liquid, after being supplied through the inlet end (235), passes through the core (237) and it is transferred from the main pipe (238) to a connector (12) with distribution ends (232, 234). The connector’s (12) distribution ends (232, 234) are connected to the grates (13). It is taken from the radiator through the collection ends (239) and discharged through the liquid outlet end (236). The control end (221 ) faces the space (1 1 ) in the body (10). Said connector (12) preferably includes a blind (233) end, and this blind end (233) is covered with a blind plug (2331 ). Liquid can be discharged from there after the blind plug (2331 ) is removed. Similarly, the outlet end (236) has a blind end (233) covered with a blind plug (231 1 ) also at the portion which faces outward the radiator (1 ).

Said core (21 1 ) is placed on the control end (231 ). The core (221 ) closes the water passage or lefts it open at a certain level by advancing or being retracted with the propulsion received from the mechanism control element (21 ) in it. Thus, the amount of liquid passing through the compact connector (23) can be controlled. Here, thanks to positioning the control element (21 ) connected to the control end (231 ) on the customized compact connector (23), it is seated on the space (10) in the body (1 1 ). As a result, the control element (21 ) is protected against both external intervention and does not cover an extra area.

In said embodiments, the control element (21 ) may be a mechanical valve or an electronic valve. The examples given here may be any device/mechanism that enables moving the core of the control element (21 ) back and forth without being restricted.

Figure 4 is a simplified schematic view of the invented system.

A preferred embodiment of the invention comprises a temperature sensor (50) to measure temperature in the environment where the radiator is located, at least one communication unit (40) to ensure communication between the sensor (50) and the control element (21 ), and a processing unit (30) which enables controlling the control element (21 ) by creating a response according to the data received from the sensor (50).

In this configuration, the communication unit (40) may be any device known in the previous art to provide communication between the processing unit (30) and the sensor (50). For example RF-LF modules, Bluetooth, IR (infrared) communication systems, Wi- Fi or wireless connection systems will provide the desired result.

In said system, the temperature is measured continuously or in certain intervals by the temperature sensor (50). The data of the temperature sensor (50) are transferred to the processing unit (30) by means of said communication unit (40), and the processing unit (30) creates a response according to the predefined intervals or a certain algorithm and triggers the control element (21 ). Accordingly, the control element (21 ) moves the core (211 ) and controls the amount of liquid to pass through the connection piece.

The protection scope of the invention is described in the claims annexed, and may not certainly be restricted for those described in this detailed description for illustration. As a matter of fact, obviously a person specialized in the art may suggest similar embodiments under the light of those described above, without diverging from the main theme of the invention.
