Abstract:
An article of underwear such as a panty or brief includes a front piece (2) for covering the lower abdominal portion, a rear piece (3) for covering mainly both right and left buttocks, and a coupling piece (4) for coupling the front piece (2) to the rear piece (3) and for covering the crotch of a human body. The front piece (2) has projected portions (21) extended at the upper portion thereof in both rightward and leftward directions. The rear piece (3) has projected portions (31) extended at the upper portion thereof obliquely in both upper rightward and leftward directions, and is so curved as to be recessed mostly at the upper edge (35) thereof on the central line of the rear piece (3). The projected portions (21) and (31) of both the front and the rear pieces (2) and (3), respectively, are stitched at the end edges (24) and (34) thereof.
