Abstract:
Paper stock that has been conveyed to a position displaced from a normal position can be overlaid and stored on previously stored paper stock. A paper money processing device (1) is provided with: a storage unit (5) for forming a storage space (5a) in which paper money (M) is layered and stored; a conveyance mechanism for conveying paper money (M) to the storage unit (5); and a movable piece (37) capable of entering and exiting the storage space (5a), the movable piece (5) being provided in a direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction of the paper money (M) conveyed by the conveyance mechanism. Conveyance is stopped in a position where the rear end part in the conveyance direction of the paper money (M) to be conveyed to the storage unit (5) by the conveyance mechanism is facing the moveable piece (37), the rear end part of the paper money (M) in the conveyance direction in a position facing the moveable piece (37) is thereafter moved to the storage space (5a) side and the paper money (M) is layered and stored in the storage space (5a) by the entering and exiting operation of the movable piece (37).
