Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a parasitic dinoflagellate which belongs to the genus Amoebophrya and which is effective for controlling a red tide produced by dinoflagellates belonging to the genus Karenia. Provided are: a parasitic dinoflagellate belonging to the genus Amoebophrya, capable of parasitizing dinoflagellates belonging to the genus Karenia; a composition containing the parastic dinoflagellate belonging to the genus Amoebophrya; a microbial formulation; a method for obtaining the parasitic dinoflagellate belonging to the genus Amoebophrya; and a method for suppressing the proliferation of dinoflagellates belonging to the genus Karenia.
