Title:
PARTICULATE MATTER DETECTION SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/194363
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A particulate matter detection sensor (1) has a particulate matter detection unit (2) for changing the output of an electrical signal according to electrical characteristic variation resulting from the deposition of particulate matter included in an exhaust gas (G) discharged from an internal combustion engine and a cover member (3) having a cylindrical cover wall part (31) disposed so as to surround the periphery of the particulate matter detection unit (2). The particulate matter detection unit (2) is provided with a deposition reception part (21) onto which a portion of the particulate matter is deposited and a plurality of detection electrodes (23) disposed on the deposition reception part (21) so as to be separate from each other. The deposition reception part (21) of the particulate matter detection unit (2) is disposed so as to face the leading end side of the cover member (3). The cover wall part (31) of the cover member (3) is provided with a plurality of exhaust gas introduction holes (311) formed at positions further to the leading end side than the deposition reception part (21).
