Abstract:

A partitioning method for a pipe material capable of manufacturing the pipe material with high airtightness by less number of steps and reducing cost and a gas generator using the pipe material. The partitioning method for the pipe material (1) comprises a first step and a second step for partitioning and closing, by a partition plate (2), the hollow part of the pipe material (1) formed of a metal material at a specified position and the gas generator (50) uses the pipe material (1). In the first step, the partition plate (2) is inserted into the pipe material (1) so that the faces (2b) and (2c) of the partition plate (2) are approximately vertical to the longitudinal direction of the pipe material (1). In the second step, the partition plate (2) is disposed at a specified position in the pipe material (1), and the portion thereof adjacent to the specified position where the partition plate (2) is disposed is caulked from the outer peripheral surface of the pipe material (1) to bite the partition wall (2) into the wall of the pipe material by 0.1 mm or more from the outer peripheral end face thereof so as to fit the pipe material (1) to the partition wall (2).
