Title:
PASSENGER SEAT GUIDE RAIL FOR BUSES AND ITS INSTALLATION
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2009/031987
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
This invention relates to a guide rail (1) which provides the passenger seats to be mounted on the vehicle floor and to the installation of this rail. In the mentioned rail (1), the canal part (2), where the seat leg connection piece is placed, exists on the side surface of the corridor. Therefore, the canal part (2) of the guide rail (1) is not needed to be covered with roving since it is not seen by the passengers. Additionally, since the guide rail (1), which is the subject of the invention, is produced from lusterless aluminum, it doesn't require any coverings; and since the aluminum is resistant to oxidation, it puts off the corrosion of the rails that will happen in time.

Description:

DESCRIPTION

PASSENGER SEAT GUIDE RAIL FOR BUSES AND ITS INSTALLATION

Subject of the invention

This invention relates to a passenger seat guide rail and installation of this rail; which is made of aluminum that is used in the installation of the passenger seats of the bus and similar mass transportation vehicles, which is mountable to the vehicle floor by screwing, which provides facility in the installation process and where the guide rail canal is on the side surface.

State of Prior Art

In buses, rail systems which have different mechanisms; such as controlled, manual and sliding, are used for the installation of the passenger seats. In these systems of the present state of art, C formed guide rails are used and these rails; which are mounted to the floor where the seats are placed and the canal part of the rail heads towards upside in such a way that the canal part of the rail is between the two fixed sides. The legs of the seat are settled in the guide rail and the passenger seat is mounted. In the present state of art, since the canal part of the guide rail heads towards upside, the guide rail is covered with roving in order to provide a more aesthetical appearance. However, although it is used to provide a better appearance, this roving causes a worse appearance since it is used for covering only the existing space.

Usually, in the present state of art the rails are produced from carbon steel which has low resistance towards corrosion; and since the carbon steel is low resistant to corrosion it causes corrosion of the rails in time.

Additionally, these rails which are known in the present state of art are mounted to the vehicle floor by welding which increases the cost of installation and the required work force .

Detailed Description of the invention

This invention relates to the guide rail, which is used for installation of the passenger seats and which is mounted to the vehicle floor of the buses and similar vehicles, and its installation.

The passenger seat guide rail (1) which is the subject of the invention is provided to be mounted to the vehicle floor (5) , and to be screwed with at least one bolt (3) on the reversed "L" shaped hollow special cross-section installation profile (4) which is on the corner where the vehicle floor (5) intersects with the corridor side wall (6) . Thus, such a more costly process as welding, which is used to mount the guide rail to the vehicle floor in the present state of art, becomes unnecessary and installation facility is provided with screwing method.

The canal (2) part of the guide rail, where the seat leg connection piece is placed in the guide rail (1) , which is the subject of the invention, is on the side surface heading towards the side wall (6) of the other opposite corridor. Therefore, the canal (2) part of the rail can not be seen by

the passengers in the bus; so that the space on the rail is not needed to be covered by an extra roving.

Moreover, the guide rail (1) which is the subject of the invention is produced from lusterless aluminum. Since aluminum has a high resistance towards oxidation because of its chemical features, this situation puts the corrosion of the rails off. Additionally, lusterless aluminum provides a more beautiful appearance in terms of aesthetics; the rail is not required to be covered.
