1. | PcCassette is a new option that helps the computer user to use the cassette tape inside the computer. It helps to listen to the tapes on computer and also allows recording the tape or part from it as a MP3 file on WAV file and save it on computer. The idea is depend on design a device looks like the CDRom and inside it there is a cassette player which contain a mechanism to play the tape and an electric circuit that passes the audio signal from the magnetic head to the channels of audio inside the audio card in the computer (AUX and CD ports). What to be claimed: Protect the main idea (cassette tape player inside the computer) . |
2. | The power connector which is not exists in ordinary cassette players (Element (1) Fig. ( I )). And it supply the circuit with 12 volt and 5 volt. It contains 4 bins: 12v & 5v & 2bins Ground. It connected to the power cable that comes from the power supply of the computer. |
3. | The Audio connector which is not exists in ordinary cassette players (Element (2) Fig. ( I )). it is 4 bins: left channel, right channel & 2 Grounds. |
4. | The audio amplifier circuit (shown in Fig. 3) and the value of component on it. This amplifier circuit aims to amplify the output of the magnetic head and make it down the 1 volt to be able to be entered to the sound card inside the computer. |
Technical Field
The field that included this idea is the field of computer.
The idea is to add a new option to the computer user to use the cassette tape inside the computer, and through a certain program that allow to use it as cassette player with the option to save the audio in the computer.
Background Art
Although the big gross in the filed of the computer and especially in audio field and file compressing, there is no way to help the user to insert a cassette tape into the computer as audio file.
The cassette tape was for long time and still until now the dominant in the field of audio recording.
Disclosure of the Invention
The idea is depend on design a device looks like the CD reader and inside it there is a cassette player which contain a mechanism to play the tape and an electric circuit that pass the audio signal from the magnetic head to the channels of audio inside the audio card inside the computer (AUX and CD). The circuit is designed to satisfy certain conditions such s:
- The electric voltage (12 voltages) is taken from the power supply of the computer (Element (1 ) Fig. (I)).
- The output sound from the device does not be more than 1 volt to be entered to the sound card.
- The audio connector is that like the one used in the CD reader (Element (2) Fig. (I)).
Function description of the circuit diagram: (see Fig. 2) Control circuit :
The mechanism motor is connected to the connector BR3, supplied by 12v dc comes from the PC through the connector BR4. When the Tape inserted in the drive, SWl is on passing 12V to the motor through R7 acting as current limiter to avoid any over current when the motor started.
LEDS
The "power Led" and " direction Leds" are connected to BR5 and the direction of the tape comes from the state switch SW3 in the mechanism.
Audio amplifier circuit: (Fig. 3)
The cassette head connected to the board through the connector BR2.
There are two similar amplifiers, one for the left channel and the other for the right one.
This circuit amplify the signal from "5mv" comes form the head to "Iv"
RMS to be entered to the sound card in the PC (more voltage may cause damage on the card).
The amplifier circuit are using the low noise operational amplifier LM
