Abstract:
A permanent magnet synchronous motor for a hermetic compressor is disclosed. The permanent magnet synchronous motor comprises: a stator which includes a plurality of stator teeth each having a coil wound thereon in order to form an electromagnetic field; and a rotor which includes a cylindrical-shaped rotor yoke capable of rotating outside the stator, and a plurality of permanent magnets provided at the inner surface of the rotor yoke in the circumferential direction, wherein the thickness of the rotor yoke is smaller than or equal to the thickness of the permanent magnets and is larger than the minimum thickness corresponding to a magnetic saturation counter-electromotive force.
