Title:
PESTICIDE PRODUCTION METHOD TO COMBAT DERMANYSSUS GALLINAE USING ALCOHOLIC EXTRACTS OF TRACHYSPERMUM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2022/167861
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The claimed invention consists of the alcoholic extract of the Trachyspermum plant. Thymol as the main active ingredient of this compound and, gamma terpinene and carvacrol, as synergists, significantly increase the pesticidal effect of this compound. To obtain the alcoholic extract of the Trachyspermum plant, the seeds of the Trachyspermum plant are grinded with a milling machine. The ground powder of Trachyspermum is mixed with alcohol (ethanol) and heated and subsequently after settling of the liquid inside the Soxhlet, the composition is evaporated using the rotary evaporator in a vacuum to evaporate the ethanol.

Description

Title of Invention : Pesticide production method to combat Dermanyssus gallinae using alcoholic extracts of Trachyspermum

Technical Field

[0001 ] Veterinary and agricultural

Background Art

[0002] In the claimed invention, the Trachyspermum plant, which is native to the region of Azerbaijan, has been used to fight against poultry scabies (Dramenisus galine). For this purpose, alcoholic extract were obtained by different methods and used with different dilutions on this pest.

Summary of Invention

[0003] The claimed invention consists of the alcoholic extract of the Trachyspermum plant.

[0004] The ground powder of Trachyspermum is mixed with alcohol (ethanol) and this mixture is introduced into the Soxhlet and heated for 5 hours, and subsequently after settling of the liquid inside the Soxhlet, the composition is evaporated using the rotary evaporator in a vacuum to evaporate the ethanol. The result is a thick lotion that can be mixed with a certain amount of water, used to combat poultry red mite, which can be encapsulated.

[0005] A total of 12 important compounds (94.13%) were identified in the GC-MS analysis of alcoholic extracts. The main constituents of alcoholic extracts are thymol (45.08%), benzene (18.91 %) , gamma terpinene (12.45 %) ,methanamine (8.87%) and Carvacrol (0.4%) .

Technical Problem

[0006] Dermanyssus gallinae or poultry red mite (PRM), is one of the most important ectoparasites of farmed poultry and has the most economic threats and damages in the laying poultry industry in most countries of the world. Infection with this blood-sucking mite can cause stress along with stunted growth and production in infected poultry.

[0007] It can also transmit other pathogens, including poultry spirocytosis, chickenpox virus, and Eastern Equine Encephalitis Virus. In general, to control Dermanyssus gallinae, pesticides such as organophosphate, carbamate, and pyrethroid insecticides are used, and their continuous use can cause drug resistance in the parasite. Resistance to synthetic pesticides against Dermanyssus gallinae has been widely reported in poultry breeding systems. In addition, the use of these toxins can lead to their survival in food as well as adverse effects on the environment.

[0008] There is currently no definitive solution to combat this ectoparasite. Constant observance of hygiene and cleaning of poultry units and equipment is one of the basic conditions for prevention and fight against any disease. Washing with water and detergent can remove some of the germs and their eggs from the poultry environment. Even in traditional methods, the use of diesel or detergents has been common.

[0009] According to the above, the purpose of presenting the current invention is to produce Trachyspermum pesticides to fight against PRM, which is a common parasite of poultry, especially in laying hens.

Advantageous Effects of Invention

[0010] 1 . Because this compound is sprayed on chickens, it does not mix with poultry feed, therefore preventing negative effects of chemical toxins.

[0011 ] 2. The plant is native to the region of Azerbaijan and is a wilding plant, which can be easily found in different seasons in all parts of Azerbaijan. Its Turkish name is Chamenzireh, so it is cheap and affordable compared to chemicals.

[0012] 3. While cheap and safe, it has a high success rate.

Brief Description of Drawings

[0013] Figi Pesticide Production Diagram

Description of Embodiments [0014] In the submitted diagram block, the composition, preparation and processing of the final product are described. In this way, first the seeds of the Trachyspermum are grinded with a milling machine. The ground powder of seeds is mixed with ethanol with specific percentages, and then the resulting mixture is fed into the Soxhlet machine, and then the extract from the Soxhlet is exposed to the open air by using the rotary evaporator in a vacuum to evaporate the ethanol. After this step, a viscous lotion or the same pesticide is obtained.

Examples

[0015] Trachyspermum seed extract after preparation, can be sprayed on chickens and various parts of poultry farm, to combat poultry red mite.

Industrial Applicability

[0016] Livestock and agricultural and the related industries
