Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating glomerular diseases, the composition containing ginsenoside Rg3 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient. It was found that the ginsenoside Rg3 of the present invention can prevent damage to human podocytes by inhibiting apoptosis and inflammatory response caused by the ER stress of human podocytes. Thus, the ginsenoside Rg3 and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof can be used as an active ingredient of a composition for treating or preventing glomerular diseases.
