Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, alleviating or treating hair loss and a composition for promoting hair growth or hair regrowth, both compositions containing a Connarus semidecandrus Jack. extract. According to the present invention, it has been identified that when a testosterone-induced alopecia animal model is treated with the Connarus semidecandrus Jack. extract, hair growth is promoted, hair length and thickness are also increased, the expression of androgenic receptors and apoptosis-related factors are inhibited, the survival and proliferation of human dermal papilla cells are promoted and the activity of 5-α reductase is inhibited, and thus the Connarus semidecandrus Jack. extract of the present invention can be effectively and variously used for preventing or treating hair loss and promoting hair growth or hair regrowth.
