Abstract:

The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating a heart failure, and a method for screening an agent for preventing or treating a heart failure. The pharmaceutical composition of the present invention comprises a CCN5 or CCN2ΔCT protein, which has an anti-hypertrophic effect, or a gene carrier having a nucleotide sequence which encodes the protein, and thus the composition very effectively prevents or treats a heart failure even without a surgical treatment of transplanting a new heart.
