Abstract:
The present invention relates to: a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating metabolic syndrome-related diseases, comprising, as an active ingredient, a Dendropanax trifidus sap extract or a compound derived therefrom; and the like. The composition, of the present invention, comprising, as an active ingredient, a Dendropanax trifidus sap extract or a compound derived therefrom, has low toxicity, regulates glucose metabolism, and increases glycolysis and mitochondrial respiration so as to increase muscular metabolism, and thus is expected to be effectively used in the prevention or treatment of metabolic syndrome-related diseases including hyperglycemia and obesity.
