Disclosed are a pharmaceutical composition, for prevention or treatment of bone diseases, comprising nuclear factor I-C (NFI-C) protein or a gene thereof as an effective component, and a cell therapeutic agent overexpressing the gene. The composition or the cell therapeutic agent according to the invention can be usefully used for treatment or prevention of bone diseases including osteoporosis since the composition or the cell therapeutic agent can inhibit bone loss by inhibiting adipocyte differentiation while promoting osteoblast differentiation.
