Abstract:

The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating a kidney disease, comprising glutathione as an active ingredient, and the present inventors have confirmed that, as a result of treating, with human glutathione, a GLA mutant kidney Fabry disease organoid model, glutathione reduces structural deformation of the GLA-mutated kidney Fabry disease organoid model, increases expression of a podocyte or a renal tube marker, and reduces apoptosis. Therefore, glutathione of the present invention is expected to be very effectively utilized for preventing or treating various kidney diseases including kidney Fabry disease.
